Yearly cultural festivals of Hungary
Every year during late spring early summer the Millenaris Park is covered with delicous fragnances of Hungarian cuisine. The Gourmet Festival, is Hungary’s most prestigious and diverse gastro event. The event provides an opportunity for visitors to sample the tastes from the country’s best restaurants in one location.
Smaller producers can introduce themselves to potential buyers, and the best cheese makers also receive special attention. This event gathers top restaurants from the pearls of the countryside to those showcasing Budapest’s Michelin star chefs.
This occasion is the perfect opportunity to sample Hungarian cooking at its best, and to sample some of the best Hungarian creations.
There is also another great cultural festival during spring which is called the Budapest Spring Festival. It offers a colourful programme of traditional events (theatre performances, exhibitions, concerts and other special events) for Budapest residents and visitors as well.
This year’s Budapest Spring Festival is not just about celebrating Budapest’s culture, as it coincides with the 20th anniversary of Hungary’s accession to the European Union. A number of programmes will explore the country’s intellectual and emotional relationship with Europe.
Among the many cultural events are theatre and musical performances and film screenings. Among the events, the venues will be special as well, with a focus on open-air spaces representing the atmosphere of a ruin pub.
