Hotel Recommendations for the First Quarter of 2024
The country’s newest five-star hotel opened with a unique, holistic, health-focused concept, offering personalized treatments and programs. The youngest member of the Botaniq Collection luxury umbrella brand, Melea, is waiting for visitors to regenerate, recharge, and relax in Sárvár (western Hungary).
One of the hotel’s special features is that you cannot book for just one or two days, instead you can choose from 4, 7 or 10 day packages.
“The reason for these unusual booking options is that a minimum of four days of rest, recharging, and treatment is required to achieve the right positive health effects,” the hotel’s brand strategy manager said.
At the hotel, guests will receive a personalized plan that includes health, beauty, dietetic, recreational, and mindfulness therapies and programs, according to their needs and requirements.
The hotel is spread over 3.5 hectares with a large garden, and offers 83 rooms and suites with balconies. It also pays special attention to sustainability and climate protection.
Across the country is a similarly unique accomodation, with a different concept. It’s called Minaro Hotel, which is the second hotel in Hungary to achieve Green Key certification.
Minaro Hotel Tokaj MGallery is the second hotel in Hungary to be awarded the Green Key certification in recognition of its sustainability efforts. The programme sets a strict set of requirements for tourism facilities to ensure sustainable and environmentally friendly operations in the sector.
The programme, which has over 6000 partners worldwide, has a set of more than 100 criteria, covering areas ranging from waste collection to energy and water management to the protection of green spaces. Certification is achieved by successfully completing an audit by Green Key’s independent verifiers.
The hotel has already met a number of sustainability criteria in this first certification, but every year it aims to meet additional requirements in terms of both sustainability and the protection of flora and fauna, thus energy use and reducing its carbon footprint will be priorities in the coming period, the hotel said.
But it’s not only in the countryside that you can find excellent, quality accommodation.
The Forbes Travel Guide (FTG) has published the results of its latest ratings, with several Budapest hotels receiving four or even five-star ratings. These hotels could be a great choice for your next event!
The Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest has been awarded a five-star hotel rating and has been included in Condé Nast Traveller‘s 2024 “Gold List.” The review highlights the hotel’s eclectic past, the size of its guest rooms, and its fitness center. The hotel’s spa area is also included in FTG’s rating system, with a four-star rating.
The Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest and The Ritz-Carlton Budapest have both been awarded four-star ratings, but it is important to note that the four-star category used in the FTG rating system is not the same as the European hotel rating system.
Anantara New York Palace Budapest Hotel, Corinthia Budapest, and InterContinental Budapest have been added to the list of recommended hotels.
Amanda Frasier, president of Forbes Travel Guide’s ratings said “These hotels are at the forefront of their respective categories and are defining the future of luxury in design, hospitality and wellness.”
