Europe's most beautiful Christmas fair at the Basilica opens in November and other winter programs in the heart of the city

Budapest is slowly getting dressed up for the festive season, as the most beautiful Christmas party in Budapest and Europe is about to open its doors at the Bazlica. It is also the perfect destination for team building and incentive trips during this period, which Jet Travel is fully available to organise and manage.

The Christmas market is waiting for you at St. Stephen’s Square. The Advent Basilica will be held in its traditional form.

The Christmas tree is part of the real Christmas atmosphere. In the centre of the square, a 12-metre tree will be replaced by a new one, which will once again set the tone for St Stephen’s Square.

In front of the Basilica, a monumental Advent wreath will take their rightful place, and of course the Advent candle-lighting ceremony will also be held.

But it’s also about gastronomy. In addition to authentic winter flavours, there will be real culinary delights for gastronomic adventurers.

And finally, the perennial favourite: every afternoon, the façade of the basilica will be dazzled by a magnificent light painting, followed by a concert of the highest quality.

If you want to see a different side of Budapest as well, then don’t hesitate to check out the many winter activities in the heart of the capital.

For incentive adventures, we warmly recommend Városliget and its surroundings. There’s no better team-building and recreational opportunity than combining nature and winter sports in the city centre. Visit the artificial ice rink opening on 15th of November, the nearby cafés and restaurants or the Budapest Zoo. Whatever your preferred activities, Jet Travel can organise them for you.

Get your hot chocolate in the City Park!

If you don’t want to spend too much time in the cold, take a nice stroll in Városliget, one of the most beautiful and popular parts of Budapest. After a long walk, you’re guaranteed to enjoy a nice warm drink. The Városliget Café & Restaurant has delicious hot chocolate and coffee specialities to warm you up after a hard day’s work. But that’s not the only thing the restaurant is good for, as their delicious drinks and dishes made from quality ingredients range from Hungarian dishes to light delicacies, so it’s worth trying them too.

Relax in the Széchenyi Spa

One of the super winter activities is a little refreshment and relaxation in one of the best spas in Budapest, the Széchenyi Spa. The huge complex has 15 indoor pools and three outdoor pools, and the spa covers an area of 6220 square metres. The spa offers a wide range of services, including spa and wellness treatments, as well as saunas.
